The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is collaborating with AVPL to establish 50 AVPL AeroVision Drone Labs at AICTE-approved institutions nationwide. This initiative will enhance the technical education system by enhancing the skills of students and faculty about drone technology, preparing them to face the global job market and to meet the need for skilled professionals in this industry.
Key Highlights of the Initiative
1. Drone Lab Overview:
The labs will train students in hands-on practice in drone piloting, assembly, repair, and other advanced technical applications. It integrates theoretical knowledge with practical training to ensure students are industry-ready.
2. AICTE’s Vision:
AICTE Chairman, Prof. T.G. Sitharam, remarked that such an initiative transformed students through the right acquisition of relevant skills and facilitated industry readiness. He went on to appreciate the involvement of institutions across tier-2 and tier-3 cities, underrepresented regions of Daman and Diu, demonstrating AICTE’s concern for inclusive innovations.
3. Support and Collaboration:
AVPL, being a DGCA-certified drone manufacturer, will offer full-fledged resources, which include state-of-the-art equipment, training modules, and ongoing support. This is a step in line with AVPL’s vision to bridge the talent gap in the drone sector and create global employment opportunities.
Steps for Institutions to Participate
AICTE-approved institutions can express interest in hosting these labs by submitting proposals that demonstrate their commitment to fostering technological innovation. Institutions should:
1. Availability of infrastructure in the labs.
2. AVPL to be contacted for training of faculty and curriculum development.
3. Outreach to be done to the students belonging to different sections of society for maximum impact of the program.
This partnership underlines the need for academia-industry collaboration to prepare the youth of India for emerging technologies and global challenges. By pooling their resources and expertise, AICTE and AVPL look to make India a leader in drone technology.
