New Delhi, December 17, 2024: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has sought the active participation of students through Students for Development (SFD) and Paryavaran Sanrakshan Gatividhi for the National Environment Youth Parliament 2025 (NEYP-2025). This move is to create an awareness and leadership among youth to engage with the country’s burning environmental issues.

The NEYP-2025 provides a platform that brings together young minds into meaningful dialogues and initiatives, focused on environmental sustainability. Engaging students through interactive seminars, workshops, panel discussions, and policy debates, the initiative works towards collaborative solutions towards environmental conservation.

Key Objectives of NEYP-2025:

  1. Green Leadership: Empowerment of youth with leadership skills and inculcating a sense of responsibility toward environmental stewardship.
  2. Youth Engagement: This is the encouragement of active participation and fostering a greater appreciation for nature and its preservation.
  3. Informed Decision Making: Equip participants with the skills necessary to make effective decisions regarding environmental issues.
  4. Collaborative Diplomacy: Encourage teamwork, communication, and problem solving in addressing environmental challenges.

This initiative is expected to play a critical role in shaping the next generation of environmental leaders, ensuring youth engagement in sustainable practices and policymaking. The institutions across the country should motivate students to participate and contribute toward the success of NEYP-2025.
