Pune, August 30, 2025 – Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has officially announced the results for the Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (MH SET) 2025, conducted on June 15, 2025. The much-awaited outcome is now available on the official website, setexam.unipune.ac.in, bringing relief and excitement to thousands of candidates aspiring to secure Assistant Professor positions in universities and colleges across Maharashtra and Goa.
The MH SET 2025, the 40th edition of this prestigious state-level examination, was held across 18 exam centers in cities including Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and Panjim (Goa). The test, designed to assess teaching and research aptitude, comprised two papers: Paper I, focusing on general aptitude, and Paper II, testing subject-specific knowledge across 32 disciplines such as Arts, Commerce, Science, Law, and Education. Each paper carried 2 marks per question, with no negative marking, making it a high-stakes yet fair evaluation for candidates.
Cut off SET 2025

Candidates who appeared for the exam can access their scorecards by visiting the official MH SET portal and entering their seat number and name. The results include detailed performance metrics, such as marks obtained and qualifying status. To qualify, general category candidates needed to secure at least 40% aggregate marks across both papers, while reserved category candidates required a minimum of 35%. Only the top 6% of candidates who met these criteria will be deemed eligible for Assistant Professor roles.
The announcement follows the release of the provisional answer key on June 26, 2025, with objections accepted until July 2, 2025. The final answer key, which forms the basis for the results, was carefully reviewed to ensure accuracy. SPPU has also confirmed that qualifying candidates will receive an e-certificate, a crucial document for applying to academic positions in Maharashtra and Goa. This certificate, issued post-verification of eligibility documents, holds lifetime validity, offering successful candidates long-term career opportunities.
The MH SET 2025 results mark a pivotal moment for educators aiming to shape the future of higher education. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website for updates on e-certificate issuance and further instructions. Those who did not qualify are encouraged to analyze their performance and prepare for future attempts, as there is no limit on the number of times one can appear for the MH SET, provided they meet the eligibility criteria, including a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
SPPU congratulated all successful candidates and reiterated its commitment to fostering academic excellence through rigorous and transparent evaluation processes. For more details, candidates can visit setexam.unipune.ac.in.
