Thimphu, Bhutan – The Indian U17 Women’s football team celebrated a resounding victory at the SAFF U17 Women’s Championship 2025, securing the title with a commanding 5-0 win against Nepal on August 29, 2025. The young squad showcased their dominance throughout the tournament, netting an impressive 27 goals across six matches while conceding just three, cementing their status as a powerhouse in the region.

The team’s journey to the championship was marked by consistent brilliance, with five victories in their six outings. Despite a narrow 4-3 defeat to Bangladesh in their final group-stage match, India’s earlier performances ensured they clinched the title with an unassailable lead. Leading the charge was striker Anushka Kumari, who claimed the Top Goalscorer award with an remarkable tally of eight goals.
