0 New Delhi, November 25, 2024 — As part of the efforts towards the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Government of India has launched the “Mera Yuva Bharat Portal” (https://mybharat.gov.in), an innovative technology platform aimed at enhancing experiential learning and community engagement among the youth.
The portal, designed to connect students with practical learning opportunities in diverse sectors, has been developed by the Department of Youth Affairs. It offers a structured approach for volunteering, team-building, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skill development. This stands in line with the overall emphasis of NEP 2020 on creating holistic, skill-based education ecosystems.
All schools and colleges are invited to register on the portal to become a Knowledge Institution. Once registered, institutions will have a dedicated webpage where they can post about their activities and connect with students and alumni at a pan-India level.
The platform also supports individual youth registration, which will enable them to maintain a digital record of the experiential learning activities. These records may potentially be converted into educational credit points, adding value to academic profiles.
The secretary of the University Grants Commission, Prof. Manish R. Joshi, also appreciated institutions embracing this initiative, adding that registering on the portal will enhance and spread their reach among youths: “This is an attempt toward improving the quality of higher education and preparing youths to tackle real-world challenges.
The Mera Yuva Bharat Portal is a promising new way of integrating technology with education by presenting young learners with the possibility of using what they learn in academia in real life. Institutions and students must seize this moment to contribute to a vibrant and skilled India.
