Story : The Man and the Branch

1 0

One dark night, a man walked along a lonely mountain road with only a lantern to guide his way. The silence of the night was deep, and every step echoed against the cliffs. Suddenly, he slipped and rolled down the slope. Just before falling into the darkness, he caught hold of a branch.

Dangling in the air, he looked down. All he could see was a deep, endless valley. Terrified, he thought the branch was the only thing keeping him alive. His hands began to ache, his skin tore, and blood trickled down his wrists, yet he clung to it with all his strength. Hour after hour, he held on, trembling, praying for the morning light.

When dawn finally arrived, the world around him was revealed. To his shock, he saw that a solid rock had been waiting just below his feet, barely a few inches away. With a sigh of relief, he let go of the branch, landed safely, and walked away.

Moral:
Often in life, we hold on to fear, pain, or illusions, believing they are our only means of survival. But many times, safety and peace lie just beneath us—closer than we imagine. Trust, courage, and letting go can reveal the ground that was supporting us all along.
